Leader Education is recruiting Behaviour Support Workers to work in SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) settings based in Bradford. These schools cater to young people aged 4-16 who experience significant SEMH needs and may have been excluded from mainstream education. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students with challenging behaviour in either education or care settings.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, and the position is long-term.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working with young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or those in alternative provision such as PRU settings.
- A strong, resilient, and patient approach to supporting students with complex behavioural difficulties.
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and external agencies.
- The ability to respond quickly and effectively to challenging situations while maintaining a calm and supportive presence.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
