Amarval Partners Ltd is seeking a reliable Behavior Support and Transition Assistant to run the school's internal inclusion room. You will support students facing behavioral or emotional challenges and help them stay on track with their schoolwork.

You will manage a calm classroom space, develop step-by-step reintegration plans, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support successful return to mainstream lessons.

Qualificações

• Enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to apply.
• Proven experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH or SEND.
• Crisis de-escalation skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication with teachers, parents and external agencies.

Responsabilidades

• Manage the Respite Space: oversee day-to-day operations of the internal inclusion environment.
• Academic Support: coordinate with teachers to keep students on track with core work.
• Transition Planning: develop reintegration strategies to return students to mainstream lessons.
• Mentoring & De-escalation: use positive behaviour management to teach self-regulation.

We are looking for a reliable and understanding Behavior Support and Transition Assistant to run our school's internal inclusion room.

In this role, you will support students who are facing behavioral or emotional challenges. You will manage a calm classroom space, help them stay on track with their schoolwork, and create step-by-step plans to help them successfully return to their regular lessons.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Respite Space: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the internal inclusion environment, ensuring a calm, structured, and purposeful atmosphere.
• Academic Support: Coordinate with subject teachers to ensure isolated students remain caught up on their core curriculum work.
• Transition Planning: Develop and execute individualized reintegration strategies to help students confidently return to mainstream lessons.
• Mentoring & De-escalation: Use positive behaviour management and mentoring techniques to teach students emotional self-regulation and coping mechanisms.

Requirements

• DBS Certification: You must hold a valid Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be completely willing to apply for a new one.
• Relevant Experience: Proven experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or SEND needs within a school, alternative provision, or youth work setting.
• Crisis Management: Exceptional de-escalation skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to work effectively with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
