Amarval Partners Ltd. is seeking a reliable Behavior Support and Transition Assistant to run a school’s internal inclusion room in the City of London region.

You will support students facing behavioural or emotional challenges, maintain a calm classroom space, and help them stay on track with their schoolwork. The role involves developing step-by-step reintegration plans, coordinating with subject teachers, and mentoring students to improve emotional self-regulation.

Qualifications

• DBS Certification or willingness to apply for Enhanced DBS via Update Service.
• Proven experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour (SEMH/SEND) in schools or youth settings.
• Strong de-escalation skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication with teachers, parents, and external agencies.

Responsabilités

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the internal inclusion environment to maintain a calm, structured space.
• Coordinate with teachers to keep isolated students on track with core curriculum work.
• Develop and implement reintegration plans to support return to mainstream lessons.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to mentor and help students regulate emotions.

In this role, you will support students who are facing behavioral or emotional challenges. You will manage a calm classroom space, help them stay on track with their schoolwork, and create step-by-step plans to help them successfully return to their regular lessons.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Respite Space: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the internal inclusion environment, ensuring a calm, structured, and purposeful atmosphere.
• Academic Support: Coordinate with subject teachers to ensure isolated students remain caught up on their core curriculum work.
• Transition Planning: Develop and execute individualized reintegration strategies to help students confidently return to mainstream lessons.
• Mentoring & De-escalation: Use positive behaviour management and mentoring techniques to teach students emotional self-regulation and coping mechanisms.

Requirements

• DBS Certification: You must hold a valid Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be completely willing to apply for a new one.
• Relevant Experience: Proven experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or SEND needs within a school, alternative provision, or youth work setting.
• Crisis Management: Exceptional de-escalation skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to work effectively with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
