An exciting opportunity in Windsor has arisen for a Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist school for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and those who have been excluded from mainstream education. Some students also have learning disabilities alongside their SEMH needs. The position involves working 1:1 and with small groups of pupils with challenging behavioural needs. Your role will be to build positive relationships with these students to encourage positive choices and support them in learning how to regulate their emotions.

This is a full-time, long-term position starting ASAP. The students with mental health and special educational needs are aged 11-16, covering KS3 to KS4. The successful Behaviour Mentor will be responsible for managing and de-escalating behaviour, while helping to build students' self-esteem and facilitate learning.

The school provides a positive and nurturing environment that utilises therapeutic interventions to help each child fulfil their potential and overcome barriers to learning. The school has an on-site educational psychologist and several counsellors. The Behaviour Mentor will have the opportunity to shadow these professionals to learn more about these career paths.

The school recognises that the journey can be fraught with highs and lows. They nurture the uniqueness and intrinsic value of all pupils, working in partnership to achieve positive outcomes and secure a positive future. Their motto is: 'Just because you have a diagnosis, does not mean you cannot be successful.'
