Job summary

Teach Plus Limited in Newham is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional and pastoral support. The role is full-time with a daily rate of £108-£115 depending on experience, starting ASAP.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the school team to help pupils develop positive behaviour, emotional regulation and confidence in the classroom, building resilience and strong relationships across the student community.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people.
• Experience with behaviour, SEN or SEMH is desirable.
• Calm, resilient and patient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident managing challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
• Develop positive relationships with pupils and act as a consistent role model.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development.
• Implement agreed behaviour strategies and interventions.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Work closely with class teachers and SEN staff.
• Support pupils during transitions and less structured periods.
• Monitor progress and communicate relevant information to staff.
• Help create a calm, safe and inclusive school environment.
