Role: Behaviour Mentor (SEMH Specialist)

Location: Wakefield (WF2)

Salary Scale: £86 to £100 per day

Our Wakefield schools are committed to fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment for students with SEMH. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support their personal and emotional development, promote positive behaviour, and ensure well-being. Our team is collaborative, passionate, and dedicated to outstanding care and education.

The Role

You will work closely with students facing SEMH challenges, providing guidance and tailored support. Key responsibilities include:

  • Personalised Support: Help students overcome emotional and behavioural challenges, engaging them with the curriculum and developing coping strategies.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour strategies to promote a positive learning environment and support behavioural choices.
  • Emotional and Social Development: Foster a supportive atmosphere, building resilience, confidence, and self-esteem.
  • Collaboration: Work with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support holistic student development, tailoring interventions as needed.
  • Training: Team Teach behaviour management training is preferred but not essential; we offer free training to successful candidates.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Behaviour Mentor, SEMH Teaching Assistant, or similar role working with SEMH students.
  • Empathy, patience, and dedication to helping students overcome social and emotional barriers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships.
  • Adaptability and effective teamwork skills.
  • Experience in behaviour management is advantageous; training provided if needed.
  • Immediate, full-time availability.
  • Competitive daily rate of £90-£105.
  • Access to professional development and free Team Teach training.
  • A supportive, collaborative work environment where your contributions are valued.
Additional Information

This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check.
