Job summary

Philosophy Education Ltd. is recruiting a dedicated Behaviour Mentor / Pastoral Support Officer to join a secondary school in Welling, Bexley, starting after October half-term. The role focuses on supporting students with behaviour challenges and promoting engagement in learning.

You will work with a proactive pastoral team, building positive relationships, applying clear boundaries and high expectations to help students progress.

Qualifications

• Experience in secondary school settings is desirable.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a pastoral team.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour management.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral and behavioural support to students across KS3 and KS4.
• Work with school behaviour and pastoral teams to manage challenging behaviour.
• Deliver 1:1 and small-group mentoring sessions for students needing extra support.
• Support students with emotional regulation, social development and engagement in learning.
• Respond to behavioural incidents and assist in de-escalation.
