Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a confident and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a secondary school in Liverpool. The role focuses on supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties to promote positive behaviour and improve engagement.

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, build relationships, and work with staff to implement individual plans. A safeguarding focus and DBS checks are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting young people with behavioural or pastoral needs.
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A calm, patient and consistent approach.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Experience working within a secondary school or alternative provision setting would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group behaviour support.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a consistent role model.
• Support students with emotional regulation and managing challenging situations.
• Help implement individual behaviour support plans.
• Monitor pupil progress and record interventions.
• Work closely with pastoral teams, teachers and senior leaders.
• Communicate with parents and external agencies where appropriate.
