Job summary

Principal Education is seeking hard-working educators to work as Behaviour Mentors and Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) in PRUs and behavioural units across East London in Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham and Hackney. These alternative settings provide tailored academic, emotional, and social support for pupils unable to access mainstream education.

You will provide targeted support, often 1:1 or in very small groups, in classroom and mentorship roles.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK
• Ability to support pupils with SEN and behavioural challenges
• Patience, empathy, composure, and diligence
• Flexibility and adaptability
• Recent enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
• Overseas police clearance if lived abroad for 6+ months in last 5 years
• Based in London or within a commutable distance

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support for pupils with significant behavioural, emotional, and academic needs
• Work 1:1 or in very small groups inside the classroom and as a mentor
• Roles are full-time, Monday–Friday, to ensure consistency for pupils
