Job description

SEMH Teaching Assistant
  • Competitive rates between £90/£120 depending on experience
  • The chance to go on a Permanent contract

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health disorders? Are you interested in assisting children who exhibit challenging behaviour? Do you have experience working as a Secondary Teaching Assistant or Learning Mentor with young people who cannot attend mainstream school and have behavioural challenges? Are you eager to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people while developing your career in SEND/SEMH?

Even if your experience is informal or voluntary, we want to hear from you! The children you'll support may have diverse needs, including complex behavioural challenges and associated SEND. The SEMH School is seeking SEMH Teaching Assistants to work with students aged 11-16.

Relevant experience includes working with young people with SEND, Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, learning difficulties, SEMH, trauma, social communication, or related areas.

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Youth Worker, or similar roles
  • Ability to build strong, meaningful relationships
  • A genuine passion for working with SEND is essential
