Job description

Progress Teachers are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with challenging behaviours and SEMH Needs on a full time basis at a lovely primary school in Swadlincote Burton.

This is a full time position to commence in September 2025 and will become permanent for the right candidate!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural challenges, implementing tailored behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement behaviour support plans.
  • Monitor and assess student behaviour, identifying triggers and implementing proactive interventions.
  • Organise and lead workshops or training sessions for students, staff, and parents on behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Act as a liaison between the school, parents, and external agencies involved in behaviour support.
  • Work closely with the school leadership team to contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide behaviour policies.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field (desirable)
  • Proven experience as a Behaviour Mentor or in a similar role in an educational setting is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Empathy, patience, and a proactive approach to behaviour support.
  • Certification in behaviour intervention or related field is a plus.
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service OR be willingness to obtain.

Please note - to achieve the higher end of the pay scale you must have recent and relevant experience within a behaviour mentor role.

Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm

Contract length: 5 months

Pay: 88.92- 90.00 per day
