Behaviour Mentor

Location: Selly Oak, Birmingham (B29)
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: 455 - 480 per week
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Selly Oak (B29) is looking to appoint a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team in September 2025. This is a full-time role working across Key Stage 2, supporting pupils through targeted interventions aimed at improving engagement, behaviour, and emotional understanding.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in helping pupils achieve both behavioural and academic progress. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading one-to-one and small group sessions focused on emotional regulation and behaviour management.
  • Supporting pupils to set and work towards behavioural and academic goals.
  • Creating and maintaining behaviour reports and working with teachers to track pupil progress.
  • Providing support to pupils whose behavioural challenges may be linked to special educational needs (e.g. ADHD)
  • Working closely with class teachers to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach across the key stage.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children in a school setting, ideally within Key Stage 2.
  • A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
  • Some experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly those with behavioural needs (preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, consistent, and positive approach to working with children.
