Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor for a Kensington Primary & Nursery School, supporting pupils across Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1 to nurture emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.

The role is full-time, term-time only, with safeguarding and DBS checks. Excellent CPD, supportive leadership, and opportunities for progression in teaching or SEN support are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Primary, Nursery, or EYFS setting.
• Knowledge of SEND, SEMH, and attachment-based approaches.
• Nurturing and consistent behaviour management style.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Emotional resilience and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 behavioural and emotional support
• Deliver small group interventions focusing on emotional literacy and social skills
• Support children within Nursery and classroom environments
• Assist pupils during transitions and daily routines
• Support behaviour during playtimes and lunchtime periods
• Implement individual behaviour support plans
• Use restorative, play-based, and trauma-informed approaches
• Work closely with class teachers, EYFS staff, and the SENCO
• Observe, assess, and track pupil progress
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to review meetings
• Build strong and respectful relationships with parents and carers
• Support safeguarding and child protection procedures
