Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. in Rubery (West Midlands) is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support vulnerable students with emotional, social and behavioural needs.

You will help learners engage with education, build confidence and develop coping strategies in a caring school environment. The role starts ASAP on a long-term basis, requires patience, resilience and strong communication, and involves working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe and inclusive setting where

Qualifications

• Patience, empathy and resilience are essential for supporting vulnerable learners.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students.
• Experience in behaviour support, mentoring or pastoral care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with behavioural, emotional and social needs.
• Build positive relationships with students from vulnerable backgrounds.
• Help students manage emotions and develop coping strategies.
• Support students to engage with lessons and follow school routines.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and promote positive choices.
• De-escalate challenging situations calmly and professionally.
• Collaborate with teachers and the wider school team.
• Create a safe, inclusive environment where students feel valued.

We are seeking a dedicated, resilient and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a school in Rubery, supporting students from vulnerable backgrounds with a range of additional needs and behavioural challenges.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviours and achieve their full potential. The role is available to start ASAP on a long-term basis.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who may require additional emotional, social and behavioural support. You will play a key role in helping them engage with education, build confidence and develop the skills needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support for students with behavioural, emotional and social needs.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with students from vulnerable backgrounds.
• Supporting students to manage their emotions, regulate their behaviour and develop effective coping strategies.
• Helping students engage with lessons, follow school routines and access learning.
• Implementing behaviour management strategies and promoting positive choices.
• De-escalating challenging situations calmly and professionally.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team.
• Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where students feel valued and understood.

• Is confident managing challenging behaviour and supporting students with a range of needs.

• Has experience in behaviour support, mentoring, youth work, pastoral care or a similar role.
