Job description

Long-Term Teachers are seeking to appoint an experienced teaching assistant, confident in supporting a resource class within a mainstream school. You will work with students in Key Stage 1 and 2 with special educational needs, including learning, physical, social, emotional, and mental health needs. You must be adaptable, caring, patient, and hardworking. You will collaborate with other TAs but also need to use initiative to work independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or group mentoring sessions to students
  • Assist students in understanding and applying mathematical concepts
  • Develop and implement physical education activities to promote fitness and well-being
  • Support preschool-aged children in early learning and development
  • Provide tutoring in various subjects, including applied behavior analysis techniques
  • Offer guidance and care for toddlers, ensuring safety and well-being
  • Educate students with special needs, adapting teaching methods to meet individual requirements
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educational professionals
  • Collaborate with teachers to create personalized learning plans
  • Utilize knowledge of early childhood education principles to enhance learning

Requirements:

  • Strong background in mathematics, physical education, or related fields
  • Experience working with preschool children or toddlers is preferred
  • Familiarity with applied behavior analysis techniques is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for educating and mentoring individuals of all ages
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards learning

The position is full time, working Monday to Friday, term time only.
