Job Title: Behaviour Mentor - Pupil Referral Units (PRUs)

Location: Brent, North West London

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Full-Time / Long-Term / Supply

Salary: Competitive PAYE Rates - Weekly Pay

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with several Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) across Brent, and we are looking to recruit Behaviour Mentors to support young people with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a difference, helping students re-engage with education and build positive futures.

About The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting secondary-aged pupils who may be at risk of exclusion or have been excluded from mainstream schools. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Assisting with behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation
  • Acting as a positive role model, building trust and strong working relationships
  • Supporting learning and classroom engagement
  • Working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral teams to support each pupil's development

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or trauma
  • A resilient, calm, and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills
  • A genuine passion for inclusion and helping young people succeed
  • Experience in youth work, residential care, or sports coaching is desirable but not essential
