Behaviour Manager & Deputy DSL

Harrow

36 hours per week - Term Time Only Plus two weeks

We are looking to appoint a full time Behaviour Manager to lead student support at our school from 1stSeptember 2025. You would work with the Deputy Headteacher/DSL to lead interventions, support and provision for all students and be specifically responsible for CSW (Children with a Social Worker) and SEMH students. You would lead and line manage the student support team.

You will be responsible for the safeguarding and behaviour of the young people at Hatch End and previous experience is essential. You will run and organise intervention programmes to support good behaviour, attend safeguarding meetings, provide mentoring and liaise with parents/carers. This is a crucial role for our young people, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, calm, dedicated, flexible and experienced leader.

The successful applicant will:

  • be organised and efficient;
  • have experience of working in a school or similar environment with young people;
  • be keen to support additional opportunities for students to support behaviour challenges
  • have the highest expectations of students;
  • have an enthusiastic and positive approach within and beyond the classroom;
  • have energy, stamina and a sense of humour.

Education, qualifications and Training:

  • Academic qualification at ‘A’ level (or equivalent).
  • NVQ2 or equivalent in related field
  • Good Literacy and numeracy – GCSE Maths and English or Equivalent

Experience:

  • Effective working with children/young people and their families in Child Protection
  • Effective working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Working in a British secondary school in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Contributing to, implementing and reporting on Pastoral Support Plans / support plans

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively with and command the confidence of, teaching and support staff
  • A willingness to develop a range of approaches to assist in engaging with young people and to encourage them to engage with the learning process
  • Ability to communicate effectively with education and care professionals
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with the target groups, and to empathise with them
