Job description

Here at Aspris, we are proud to be a leading provider of specialist education and residential services with over 90 locations nationwide.

As part of the L&D Team, the Behaviour Management Trainer will provide professional support to Aspris; acting as a reliable source of information and advice on Team Teach training requirements, processing all related administration within agreed timescales and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include:
  • Acting as Behaviour Management Trainer for Aspris and developing relationships with regional operational colleagues and services.
  • Taking responsibility for the delivery of the Aspris Restraint Reduction Strategy to ensure the principles of person-centred care, improvement in individuals’ lives, and ongoing reduction of restrictive practices are central to the ethos and culture across the business.
  • Providing regional training support to services with some national travel when required.
  • Assisting the Behaviour Management Manager in the implementation of behavioural strategies and Restraint Reduction Strategy to ensure the development of a person-centred culture across Aspris, and personalised strategies for all children and young people which are least restrictive, evidence-based, and effective.
  • Working with the Behaviour Management Manager, operational colleagues, and the senior management team to drive the strategy implementation plan, oversee agreed actions, and work to a continuous improvement model, reviewing and monitoring success and adjusting where necessary.
  • Identifying areas of good practice, supporting development into excellent practice, and facilitating practice sharing across the organisation.
  • Working with the Behaviour Management Manager in the development of an oversight and monitoring process for the sign-off of restrictive practices and how these are audited.
  • Ensuring time-bound audits take place regarding restrictive physical interventions in line with RRN standards requirements and leading on the implementation of action plans that emerge as a result of the audits.
  • Working with the Behaviour Management Manager to ensure an annual regional restrictive practice audit takes place and coordinating the implementation of action plans that emerge because of the audit.
  • Developing and being responsible for ensuring the roll-out and maintenance of a Team Teach training programme for service-based colleagues to ensure they are equipped to work with individuals in a way that is supportive of and congruent with Aspris values.

The role sits within our Central Learning & Development Team in Leicester, but the post holder will be based remotely.

A valid UK driving licence is essential for the role with regional and some national travel. There may be a requirement for overnight stays when training and attending meetings in Aspris offices.
