Job summary

Countesthorpe Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Behaviour and Inclusion Mentor to join the SEN Department. The role focuses on early intervention, supporting students to overcome social, emotional, and behavioural barriers to learning, and serving as a bridge between academic and pastoral teams.

The successful candidate will use structured guidance and Appropriate Provision for learners, empowering them to engage in lessons and reach their full potential during a 37-hour week

Qualifications

• To carry out the assigned professional duties in accordance with and subject to the provisions of the Education Acts.
• To adhere to relevant Orders and Regulations including the most recent School Pay Policy.
• To adhere to rules, regulations, policies laid down by the Governing Board.

Responsibilities

• Pastoral Support & Interventions: Support and motivate students to develop their social and emotional skills, helping them engage positively and successfully with school life.
• Enable Targeted Mentoring: Provide targeted 1:1 or small group mentoring to help underachieving or vulnerable students overcome behavioural barriers and raise their personal aspirations.
• Collaborative Leadership: Work collaboratively alongside colleagues to lead, manage, and monitor internal reflection or inclusion spaces, ensuring they remain calm, productive, and purposeful.
• Crisis Response: Respond efficiently and constructively to on-call requests, providing dynamic de-escalation when students experience crisis or distress.
