We are searching for a talented Behavioral Health Practitioner.

Hours: 32 hrs

Shift: Day shift; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm flexible

Location: Surgery – Wareham, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Responsibilities

Under general direction of the Office Manager, Physician, or designee, perform a variety of duties to support and in support of Bariatric Surgical Services within Southcoast Physicians Services. Conduct preoperative psychological evaluations and provide recommendations to the clinical team on the appropriateness of surgery from a mental health perspective for surgical candidates. Update and manage Bariatric database. Coordinate, lead, and facilitate monthly pre-operative behavioral workshops. Counsel, coach, and educate patients and family on lifestyle changes and setting goals. Provide inpatient support to patients and education to team members and staff. Provide evening and weekend post-operative support groups at all hospital sites. Contribute to research, quality initiatives, and the development of curriculum and services for the behavioral aspects of surgical and non-surgical weight loss programs.

Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university or the equivalent knowledge or experience is required.
  • Current Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) is required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the bariatric field or in working with eating, weight-loss/gain issues, and/or eating disorder patients is required.
  • Five (5) years experience with psychological assessments and evaluations is required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
Pay Range

USD $34.46 - USD $57.88 /Hr.
