Job description

Responsibilities

We are seeking an energetic, collaborative, and experienced Behavior Technician for our LifeWorks School in Media, PA for the 2024-2025 Academic School Year.

The LifeWorks Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for students in middle and high school affected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. Our comprehensive educational curriculum is individualized and designed to actively engage each student throughout the day to achieve positive, pro-social behavioral and educational outcomes. Our unique balance of academic rigor and a continuum of evidence-based educational/therapeutic supports makes LifeWorks the regional provider of choice.

Summary of Responsibilities:
  1. Provide behavior management support to all staff by working with students on both an individual and group basis as needed.
  2. Monitor student behavioral achievement through observation and other quantitative methods.
  3. Manage student behavior through level system, S.M.A.R.T. Program, and School-wide Discipline Plan.
  4. Monitor student's behavior improvement plan (if applicable) or Positive Behavior Support Plan (if applicable) and address goals and objectives.
  5. Complete tasks assigned by staff pertaining to school environment, behavioral interventions, and other operational functions such as discipline consequences, peer mediation, conflict resolution, restitution, phone calls to parents/guardians, functional behavioral assessments, discipline referral tabulation, etc.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Criminal Justice, or a related Human Services field required.
  • Experience with Special Education is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with adolescents with behavioral health challenges within a school setting is highly desirable.
