Job Title: Behaviour Mentor

Location: The Grange Therapeutic School, Knossington, Oakham LE15 8LY

Salary: GBP25,000.00 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Behaviour Mentor to join our close-knit team at The Grange Therapeutic School, part of Acorn Education.

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join our school team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and monitoring student behaviour, helping to create a positive and productive learning environment for all.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Support and manage the smooth return of students to the classroom following behaviour interventions.
2. Implement agreed strategies to improve and manage student behaviour effectively across the school.
3. Monitor and analyse student behaviour using the online behaviour management system to identify trends and support needs.
4. Provide on-call support to teaching staff when required to address behaviour issues promptly.
5. Liaise closely with teaching staff to support learning and maintain behaviour standards.
6. Encourage and support students to follow school rules and uphold behaviour expectations consistently.
7. Assist in organising and promoting the school's rewards system and encouraging student responsibility.
8. Collaborate with the Wellbeing Manager for Inclusion to develop and implement behaviour improvement strategies.
9. Coach students in managing their emotions and developing self-regulation and self-management skills.

Additional Duties May Include:

1. Working with parents to support student behaviour and progress.
2. Assisting with the induction of new students to ensure a positive start.
3. Encouraging students to reflect on their behaviour and supporting them to make positive changes.
4. Being present in corridors to manage and respond to students who leave classrooms without permission.
5. Participating in continuous professional development and research to enhance skills and knowledge.
6. Attending meetings, assemblies, and parent events to contribute insights and support.
7. Working one-to-one with students to address individual behaviour needs.
8. Supporting staff with behaviour management strategies and interventions.
9. Contributing actively to pastoral team meetings and school events.
10. Completing other reasonable tasks as requested by the Headteacher or line manager.
