Job summary

FGS Agri Ltd, a Kent-based agricultural contracting business, is seeking an experienced Assistant Livestock Manager to join our beef cattle team on a full-time, permanent basis.

You will work closely with the Livestock Manager to support day-to-day care of the herd, monitor health and welfare, assist with calving, weighing and tagging, and help maintain high welfare standards across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ livestock handling experience.
• Strong eye for detail and animal welfare.
• Valid manual driving licence.
• Telehandler training desirable.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Monitor livestock daily, supporting herd health, welfare and productivity, and identifying any concerns promptly.
• Assist with calving seasons, including calf health, welfare, handling and tagging.
• Weigh, vaccinate and handle livestock safely and confidently.
• Maintain clean, safe and well-presented yards, feed troughs, water points, facilities and equipment.
• Work closely with the Livestock Manager and wider team to ensure high standards across the enterprise.
