Would you like to join a growing team of bed managers working within the urgent care pathway at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust? Investment is in place to develop the bed management role to better support the demands for inpatient beds, providing Band 6 Clinical support and decision making to support Band 3 bed coordinators.
You will be working a 24/7 shift pattern based at Highbury Hospital in Nottingham, managing the flow of admissions to the Trust Adult Mental Health and subcontracted beds.
You will be managing all requests for inpatient beds, coordinating admissions, and supporting the clinical prioritization of requests for inpatient beds ensuring daily bed list is kept up to date.
You will be expected to present live, accurate information regarding bed capacity and demand to senior managers in the Bed Prioritisation meeting and Daily Demand Meeting.
The role demands good sound clinical knowledge and understanding of AMH services, particularly CRHT Teams and acute inpatient care.
In this role, you will need excellent communication skills and demonstrate that you can liaise with all professionals from a variety of disciplines.
Keeping accurate records is a key element of this role.
You will work with colleagues to accurately record data jointly working with the performance team in regular auditing of bed management forms to ensure correct data flow.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the Trust Values, they will in turn be supported via regular supervision and appraisal.

This role requires an individual with relevant clinical experience and specialist knowledge in the management of risk.
You will be conversant with all policies relating to bed management/patient flow and be aware of monitoring systems that are in place and actions to be taken as necessary.
You will provide a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach of care, rapidly responding to people requiring admission to acute mental health care inpatient services in Nottinghamshire.
You will support the Team manager in service development which includes ensuring strong links with the inpatient wards, community teams, DPM, RRLP & Mental Health Liaison and social care.
