We're on a journey to build a workforce reflective of our Borough.

We are committed to fostering diverse teams where everybody can bring their authentic selves to work and feel that they belong. If you want to work for a Council where everybody is encouraged to meet their full potential and make a difference in our neighbourhoods, we would love to hear from you!

Your role:

You’ll be responsible for handling and responding to a full range of Be Well enquiries, with a specific focus on supporting the delivery of Children’s Activity Programmes. This includes primarily supporting the national award-winning Holiday Activity & Food (HAF) programme, a government-funded initiative providing healthy meals and enriching activities to children from low-income families, aiming to improve their health, wellbeing, and learning. You’ll support the Borough’s Children’s Activity Co-ordinator by providing front-line service to families, professionals, and stakeholders, along with high-quality administration in a fast-paced environment.

About you:

We seek someone who is ambitious, highly organized, passionate, and committed to supporting vulnerable children to access and benefit from opportunities available across the Wigan Borough. Experience in supporting health and wellbeing programmes, administrative support, and familiarity with booking processes within the Be Well Customer Service team are essential. You should be capable of delivering high-quality service aligned with internal and external expectations and strict deadlines.

About us:

Wigan Council has been voted ‘Overall Council of the Year’ at the APSE Awards. We are committed to the Greater Manchester Continuous Service Commitment to ensure continuous service delivery. Our 'Progress with Unity' plan aims to bring positive change over the next decade, creating fair opportunities for all and making our towns and neighborhoods flourish. Joining the Be Well team offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the award-winning Holiday Activity and Food Project, working across partnerships to deliver inclusive activities for vulnerable children. Our team is passionate about supporting children's wellbeing and encourages innovation, joint decision-making, and professional growth. We support flexible working arrangements, including remote, office, or community-based work, and offer exclusive rewards and benefits.
