Job summary

Open Age is seeking a Project Co-ordinator to deliver the Be Active Step-Down Service for isolated older people in Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea. You will recruit, train and supervise volunteers, coordinate referrals and ensure the programme runs smoothly across three days (21 hours) with hybrid office/home arrangements.

The role emphasises safeguarding, diversity, empathy and effective communication with older people and volunteers to help them stay active and connected.

Qualifications

• Experience of managing volunteers (recruiting, training and supporting).
• Experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience of monitoring and reporting on projects.
• Knowledge of issues affecting older people.
• Involvement of service users in design and development.
• Understanding of equality and diversity principles.
• Warm, positive and empathetic approach.
• Understanding of risk assessment procedures and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Be Active Step-Down Service to isolated older people across Westminster and KC&C.
• Coordinate referrals and match older people with trained volunteers providing companionship.
• Recruit, train and supervise volunteers and provide ongoing support.
• Handle administrative tasks ensuring the service runs smoothly and on schedule.
• Connect clients with additional Open Age activities and services as appropriate.
