Marketing and Business Development Manager – Antitrust, Competition & International Trade (12-Month FTC)

Location: London (hybrid working available)
Contract: 12 Months Fixed Term

The Opportunity

My client, a leading international professional services firm, is seeking a Marketing and Business Development Manager to support their Antitrust, Competition, and International Trade practices.

This is a fixed-term opportunity for an experienced BD and marketing professional to drive strategic initiatives, enhance client relationships, and deliver impactful campaigns across these high-profile practice areas.

You’ll work closely with practice leaders and global teams to coordinate business development activities, develop targeted marketing strategies, and raise the profile of the practices in key markets. The role offers the chance to lead on pitches, client development, and integrated campaigns, while managing and mentoring an assistant and collaborating with colleagues across regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development plans to support growth in Antitrust, Competition, and International Trade
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and expanding client relationships
  • Advise senior stakeholders on new business opportunities and support the creation of tailored proposals and presentations
  • Coordinate and deliver responses to RFPs, pitches, and business development presentations
  • Maintain and update credentials and marketing collateral for the practice areas
  • Coach fee earners on business development best practice, including pitch meetings and networking
  • Gather and act on client feedback to inform future strategy
  • Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns to raise the profile of the practices
  • Manage submissions to legal directories and industry publications, ensuring consistent messaging
  • Build and optimise relationships with industry associations and activate sponsorships for client engagement
  • Facilitate internal communications and knowledge sharing, including newsletters and intranet updates
  • Collaborate with other BD and marketing managers to share best practice and drive thought leadership
  • Lead and mentor an assistant, providing direction and supporting professional development
  • Contribute to wider departmental projects and support the global team as required

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing and business development within legal or professional services
  • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and manage complex projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and strategic mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Confident influencer and relationship builder
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and able to work independently
  • Experience in regulatory or commercial law is advantageous
  • Relevant post-graduate marketing or business qualification is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
