Job summary

Haringey Council is seeking a proactive Project Manager in Adult Social Care to lead a portfolio of improvement programmes. You will drive delivery from inception through to outcomes, coordinating cross‑team work and engaging stakeholders to secure lasting impact across services.

Hybrid working, 36 hours per week, FTC of 12 months, with a starting salary in the PO5/PO6 range. You will apply performance management and benefits realisation to improve residents’ experiences and outcomes.

About The Role

As a Project Manager within Adult Social Care, you will play a pivotal role in driving meaningful change and continuous improvement across a wide-ranging and dynamic service areas. The role leads and supports a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects designed to enhance services, improve outcomes, and strengthen the experiences of residents, carers, and professionals.

Adult Social Care encompasses a broad spectrum of services and priorities, including support for older people, individuals with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, safeguarding, and wider care and support services. Working within this complex and varied landscape, you will contribute to projects that help people live independently, stay connected to their communities, and access high-quality, person-centred support when they need it.

Responsible for managing projects from inception through to successful delivery, you will ensure effective planning, coordination, and implementation in line with organisational priorities and project management principles are adhered to. Primarily this is a hands‑on role, working collaboratively, leading and supporting on different aspects of delivery within Adult Social Care.

About The Team

The Service Development and Improvement team plays a central role in supporting the successful delivery of Adult Social Care’s complex improvement programme. Working alongside programme leads and operational services, the team provides coordination, analysis and project management to ensure our vital improvement projects are effectively planned, monitored and delivered.

The team brings together data, insight and stakeholder input to inform decision‑making, track progress against key milestones, and drive continuous improvement. By maintaining strong governance, supporting programme reporting and working collaboratively across teams and partner organisations, the team helps ensure that improvement activity is well‑managed, evidence‑based and focused on achieving better outcomes for residents.

About You

You are an experienced and driven professional with a proven track record of delivering impactful projects and leading service improvement within Adult Social Care. You bring a strong understanding of the complex challenges facing the sector and are motivated by the opportunity to shape innovative, sustainable solutions that make a real difference.

You possess the ability to think strategically—translating vision into clear, actionable plans—while also being confident in rolling up your sleeves to deliver at pace at an operational level. You are equally comfortable influencing long‑term direction as you are managing the detail required to ensure successful implementation.

With excellent interpersonal and engagement skills, you are adept at working collaboratively with residents, partners and colleagues, applying strong co‑production principles to design services that truly reflect local needs. As a full lifecycle project manager, you bring robust expertise in performance management, benefits realisation and driving measurable outcomes that improve services and deliver real value for residents. You will need to be flexible and adaptable, as priorities can change.
