Qualifications

Job description

We are recruiting for a BAU AV Technician to work as part of a team delivering AV support for a Paddington-based medical science client's meeting rooms and occasional event spaces. The role ensures the proper setup of meeting rooms, equipment functionality, and end-user support to provide an exceptional service. The demands can be unpredictable with tight deadlines, requiring proven skills in such situations.

Shifts are from 07:00 to 15:00 and are fully onsite, with flexibility needed for client events extending into the evening. The role maintains the quality of the client's experience, supporting AV aspects of meetings and events.

Standard Experience
  • AV competencies: signal flow/trace, troubleshooting, user support, event support
  • Familiarity with AV systems, interoperability, system dependencies, networking
  • Experience with live events and client interfacing
  • Video conferencing technologies, including Zoom Room and hybrid event support
Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Support in-office and external AV services as prescribed in Function Sheets
  • Proactively raise issues affecting AV operation
  • Set up video/audio calls and liaise with all parties
  • Arrange webinars and support conferencing technologies
  • Provide ad hoc technical support (internet, laptops, TV, email issues)
  • Monitor and maintain meeting room AV and telephony equipment
  • Provide technical training to support teams
  • Set up presentation equipment for meetings
  • Test and report equipment defects regularly
  • Conduct inductions on meeting room equipment for new starters
  • Manage AV bookings via the booking system
  • Support events and seminars with AV and multimedia technologies
  • Rig and de-rig AV equipment following health and safety regulations
  • Maintain an organized working environment and manage AV inventory
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 3 years' experience in a client-facing corporate meetings/events environment
  • High standards of AV support in a corporate head office
  • Strong computer skills and adaptability to new software
  • Hands-on experience with conferencing hardware/software
  • Experience with digital sound desks, multi-camera control, vision mixing (desirable)
  • Knowledge of control systems (QSC), signal routing, video & audio conferencing
  • Understanding of display types, aspect ratios, video walls
  • Basic stage lighting principles
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and MS Windows
  • IT qualification (desirable)
  • Advanced AV and IT equipment knowledge
  • Proactive, energetic team player with excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills, confidence, resilience, and ability to prioritize under pressure
  • Initiative, client-focused approach, attention to detail, and organizational skills
