Job Title: AR615 - Battery Service Engineer

Location: Heathrow

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Overview

First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a Battery Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will provide technical support to customers and colleagues across a range of industrial batteries and charging solutions. Applications from ex-military candidates are actively encouraged, but all candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work independently on customer sites, ensuring safety and effective communication with customers and internal teams.
2. Communicate regularly with the service desk, providing accurate reports.
3. Brief customers on the use and maintenance of equipment and recommend suitable products.
4. Ensure maintenance, installation, and repair of 2V cells/batteries and industrial chargers meet standards and specifications, including thorough testing and proper reporting.
5. Respond to breakdowns, perform fault diagnosis, and carry out repairs, submitting reports via the Motivity system.
6. Manage goods returns with correct labelling and documentation, and log entries.
7. Follow H&S, ISO9001/14001, and Safe Contractor procedures, including risk assessments and health and safety paperwork.
8. Maintain van stocks and tools, keep the van clean, and report any faults.

Skills and Qualifications

• Physically fit, capable of heavy lifting.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently or in a team.
• Dependable with a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of 2-volt cells, batteries, and chargers is essential.
• Basic AC knowledge, including testing circuits and installing chargers.
