From advanced driver assistance systems to developing the future of electric propulsion, the opportunities to create exceptional experiences for the future of motoring are wide-ranging. You'll work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyse performance, and lead transformation initiatives. Exceptional careers that bring world-renowned vehicles to life start here.

Based at our HV Traction Battery Test Lab (BatLab) in Gaydon, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, reliable test data that supports the validation and integration of our high-voltage battery packs into vehicle systems.

Working within a highly instrumented, high-voltage environment, you’ll be responsible for planning and executing complex test programmes on fully assembled battery packs. Each installation supports a suite of automated test routines, requiring deep understanding of system integration—including CAN networks, cooling systems, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and HV safety protocols.

You’ll coordinate with cross-functional teams, lead technical investigations, and ensure that every test delivers actionable insights to support engineering decisions.

  • Provide technical expertise in the setup and execution of battery tests, including the measurement and interpretation of data that will inform key engineering decisions
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the activities of small project teams to ensure testing objectives are met efficiently and effectively
  • Support the review of test requests, assessing their feasibility and ensuring they fall below EUCAR Hazard Level 4
  • Act as a champion for process documentation in line with the JLR Way and Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), while also supporting the collection and reporting of team KPIs to LL6 and senior management

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

We’re looking for someone with the right blend of experience, qualifications, and practical skills, including –

  • Demonstrated experience in supervising engineering teams, offering technical advice and guidance, and a proven ability to mentor and train others—particularly technicians, apprentices, and skilled associates
  • Extensive experience in requirements capture, data acquisition, control systems, programming of automated tests, as well as the analysis and reporting of test data
  • A natural problem-solver with a structured and methodical approach to resolving technical challenges in complex environments
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations, including Risk Assessments, COSHH, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Sound knowledge of working in high-voltage or high-risk environments, with hands-on experience in Lithium-ion battery technology
  • An individual who can positively challenge existing thinking while building credibility and trust through both experience and personal approach—aligned with and championing JLR’s Creators’ Code

BENEFITS
