Job summary

TaiSan in Cambridge is seeking a Battery Laboratory Technician to support pouch-cell manufacturing, electrolyte preparation and battery testing. The role emphasizes strict adherence to laboratory safety, SOPs and hazardous-material handling while maintaining accurate lab records.

The successful candidate will operate and troubleshoot equipment for pouch-cell preparation, electrode handling, dehydration and sealing, and assist engineers during experimental work to ensure reliable results and safe

Qualifications

• Strong practical knowledge of laboratory safety and safe operating practices.
• Experience with pouch-cell manufacturing equipment and electrolyte preparation.
• Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot battery testing equipment.
• Ability to maintain accurate test records and logs.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise laboratory safety and follow SOPs, risk assessments, COSHH, PPE rules.
• Maintain a clean, organised battery lab and ensure proper storage, labelling and disposal of materials.
• Set up and operate pouch-cell preparation, assembly and related equipment.
• Prepare battery electrolytes accurately and handle solvents and additives safely.
• Set up, operate, monitor battery testing equipment and manage cycling and ageing tests.
• Maintain test records and assist engineers with ongoing experimental work.
