We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Battery Field Engineer to join our innovative team.

Being a leader in lithium-ion battery recycling, driving the circular economy while reducing environmental impact. Using cutting-edge technologies, we specialize in the safe, efficient recycling of batteries from electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and consumer electronics.

As a Battery Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the technical operations of our recycling processes, working both on-site at our Manchester facility and off-site at customer locations. Your responsibilities will span equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation, as well as providing technical solutions to ensure the highest level of service and professionalism in all operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of battery related equipment to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Perform battery disassembly, sorting, and processing, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Provide technical support during off-site operations, representing the company professionally while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Implement and manage proactive and reactive maintenance schedules for equipment, identifying opportunities for system upgrades or process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical issues, improve workflows, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and mentor technicians and operators in equipment use, safety protocols, and process optimization.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including equipment logs, maintenance schedules, and inventory management.
  • Participate in project-based work, offering problem-solving skills to enhance or develop equipment and processes.

Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Experience in a technical or engineering role, preferably within recycling, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems used in battery-based vehicles and equipment.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and environmental compliance.
  • Engineering qualifications (minimum Level 3) are desirable; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Forklift license and vehicle loading/banksman experience are advantageous.
  • Strong IT literacy, with good proficiency in mathematics and English.
  • Valid UK driving license is essential.
  • ADR knowledge an advantage
