Job summary

Southern Water seeks a Bathing Water Partnership Manager in Sussex to deliver and lead the Bathing Water Improvements Plan through strong stakeholder partnerships. The role is hybrid with travel to regional sites and involves steering groups, community meetings, and regulatory interaction.

You will influence councils, regulators, and customers, ensuring timely delivery, reporting, and alignment with our £7.8bn investment programme for 2025–2030.

Qualifications

• Passion to deliver results benefiting the environment.
• Strong knowledge of bathing water regulations/considerations.
• Excellent understanding of Local Authorities and how to work with them.
• Excellent relationship management skills across all levels.
• Confidence speaking to the media and managing communications.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet fixed deadlines on high-profile issues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a programme of partnership delivery, engagement and action with regular dialogue with stakeholders around Bathing Water Improvements Plan.
• Lead steering groups, community meetings, customer events, and stakeholder talks.
• Identify opportunities to co-deliver projects with partners aligned to priority areas.
• Develop strategic partnership and engagement plans with internal teams.
• Manage reactive stakeholder engagement and bathing water improvement sites.
• Provide progress updates to senior internal and external stakeholders.
