Job description

Since its formation in 1978, Moore Concrete Products Ltd has developed into a world-class, quality-focused, precast concrete manufacturer based outside Ballymena. The company is customer-focused, ensuring the continued evolution of our extensive product range designed to meet the requirements of civil infrastructure, agriculture, and building customers across the UK and Ireland.

We are currently recruiting for a Batching Operative to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will coordinate and control batches of concrete mix within specifications in accordance with company standards and targets.

Hours of Work:

Rotated between shift teams.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Work within the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) to maintain quality accreditation.
2. Ensure implementation and compliance with ISO 9001, British Standards, and Eurocodes.
3. Follow testing schedules and perform quality checks in the factory and laboratory daily, weekly, and monthly.
4. Carry out dimension checks on products, conduct mould checks, and setup.
5. Prepare documentation and records of all tests and checks, ensuring they are up to date.
6. Monitor product quality, report variations, and developments.
7. Contribute to problem-solving and the development and implementation of appropriate solutions.
8. Work effectively as part of the quality team, building positive relationships with operations and office personnel while adhering to the quality system.

Essential Criteria:

1. Thoroughness to ensure products meet required specifications.
2. IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
3. Capability to work in a busy factory environment.
4. Good communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
5. Willingness to develop expertise in carrying out necessary tests.

Desirable Criteria:

1. Knowledge of the construction/civils industry.
2. Experience in setting out or taking measurements on site.
3. Ability to interpret technical drawings.
