A leading manufacturer in the glass industry is seeking Batch & Furnace Labourers at their Knottingley site. The role involves heavy industrial cleaning, monitoring raw materials, and requires a valid Counterbalance FLT licence. We are currently seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals for the position of Batch & Furnace Labourers to work at our West Yorkshire production site in Knottingley. Reporting to the Batch & Cellar Team Leader you will work as part of two-man team responsible for the general upkeep and housekeeping of the Batch Plant and Cellar areas of the factory.
Duties will include but are not limited to: -
Extremely heavy industrial cleaning
General labouring
Movement of skips with FLT
Monitoring and recording of raw material levels within various silos
It is essential that candidates hold a valid Counterbalance FLT licence and can demonstrate having experience in confined spaces.
You should have a strong pro-active approach to the health and safety of yourself and others as many of the working areas are deemed as safety critical. The ability to prioritise your own workload as well as the ability to work well within a small team and being able to work using your own initiative are also essential to this role. Previous knowledge of working within a heavy industrial environment will be an advantage, as the working zones around the furnace and cellar are extremely challenging, as well as a previous background in a supervisory role.
The hours of work for this position are 6.00am to 2.00pm Monday to Friday, however, there is an element of flexibility required for this role and as such these may change from time to time to suit factory needs.
