Job summary

Greenhouse Sports Ltd in Leicester is seeking a dedicated Basketball Coach Mentor to deliver the STEP curriculum and support young people's development on and off the court. You will plan sessions, build relationships, monitor progress, and work with the Impact Team to collect data that demonstrates the programme's impact, while upholding safeguarding and records.

Required: NGB Level 2 coaching qualification, mentoring experience, and solid IT/administrative skills to manage the programme

Job description

The Role

As a Greenhouse Coach Mentor, you'll use basketball intentionally to support the whole young person's development. Through our STEP curriculum (Social, Thinking, Emotional and Physical), you'll create positive environments and learning experiences that develop young people's skills both on and off the court.

You’ll take ownership of your programme by planning purposeful sessions, building meaningful relationships, reflecting on your practice, and adapting your approach to meet the needs of the young people you support.

As a coach mentor you will also work closely with the Impact Team to collect high-quality data to demonstrate the effectiveness of what we do and to quantify the difference we make to our young people. Data is collected at designated times throughout the year and includes; case studies, questionnaires, skills and fitness testing. Our coaches also regularly review the young peoples' progress and set targets for their future development.

Greenhouse Sports is committed to Safeguarding & Child Protection and you will ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times and will maintain accurate records of all registered participants, staff and volunteers at all planned sessions.

The Person

To be considered for this role you must hold a NGB Level 2 (or equivalent) coaching qualification and have experience of successfully delivering and managing top quality basketball programmesfor children and young people in a school, community or sports club setting. You will also demonstrate strong mentoring skills and experience, as well as being a confident and capable IT user with excellent administrative and organisational skills needed to effectively plan and manage the programme and capture all relevant data in a timely manner.

You will be highly passionate about the Greenhouse Sports mission, values and beliefs and helping young people learn and develop.
