Job summary

Peterson is recruiting a Base Operative/Stevedore to support the Serco Northlink Contract in Shetland. The role operates on a 9 days on / 3 days off rota, with a competitive remuneration and benefits package.

Duties include mooring and letting go vessels, securing trailers, and loading/unloading vehicles to and from ferries. A forklift licence is desirable; training to Tug Shunter is available and a driving licence is essential for progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in base operative / stevedore tasks.
• Forklift licence desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work on a shift rota and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Mooring and letting go vessels.
• Secure trailers and load/unload vehicles to/from ferries.
• Stow and secure chaining equipment in the dedicated areas.
• Represent Petersons and deliver excellent customer service.
