Lounge Bartender, BA Lounges – Full Time at Heathrow Airport

Pay: £14.91 per hour

Hours: Shift mixture early/late, earliest start 04:30, latest finish 22:30, 8 hours each shift

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages to customers, ensuring accuracy and consistency in taste and presentation.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and making personalised drink recommendations based on customer preferences.
• Create unique and innovative cocktail recipes, staying up‑to‑date with current trends in mixology and the beverage industry.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including stocking and replenishing supplies such as liquor, glassware, and garnishes.
• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu, including knowledge of ingredients and preparation methods.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation, including coordinating with servers and kitchen staff.
• Resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, striving to provide a positive experience for all guests.
• Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place for various dishes, ensuring high standards of quality, taste, and presentation are met.
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation, ensuring all ingredients, utensils, and equipment are readily available and in good working condition.
• Adhere to proper food safety and hygiene standards, including temperature controls, storage procedures, and sanitation practices, to maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment.
• Continuously expand knowledge of beverages, attending workshops, seminars, and tastings to enhance skills and stay informed about industry trends.
• Successfully pass a basic disclosure check and provide verifiable evidence of past 5 years of work/education history as required to obtain an airside pass.

Qualifications

• Have a contagious passion for bar service and/or customer service.

• Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution‑oriented perspective.
• Previous experience in a similar role, especially in the food service industry, is often a plus.
• Some knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
