A family-owned Italian restaurant is seeking an experienced full-time Bartender to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience, strong knowledge of spirits and cocktails, and excellent customer service skills. Qualifications

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced full-time Bartender / Barman to join our Front of House team at Franco’s on Jermyn Street, Green Park.

About us

Franco’s first opened in 1946, is considered one of the first Italian restaurants in London which focuses on traditional and contemporary Italian Cuisine. Located on Jermyn Street between Green Park and Piccadilly, Franco’s is a family-owned restaurant with a sister venue: Wiltons also on Jermyn Street. Both are managed by Director Jason Phillips who has worked at the Savoy, the Avenue and C London.

The restaurant compromises of a bar area, main dining room and a basement area which can be used as two Private Dining rooms or additional seating for the restaurant. Who we’re looking for

We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused Bartender with at least 1 year’s experience in a similar sized restaurant or bar (80–100 covers per service) and a strong knowledge of spirits, classic cocktails, Italian wines, and wine styles. You should be able to greet customers, take orders, manage stock and work closely with the Head Sommelier on the menu and new items. A basic knowledge of Italian cuisine, the ability to serve and clear a table of 4, and experience with coffee and tea service are desirable. You should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively in English. WSET certification or equivalent and knowledge of POS software (TISSL/Horizon) would be beneficial.

Note that offering quoted reflects the National Minimum Wage increase as of 1st April 2025 and is for age bracket 21 years old and over.

  • Good knowledge of spirits, classic cocktails, grape varieties and wine styles; good knowledge of Italian wines
  • Experience greeting customers, taking orders, and managing stock
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and identify opportunities to improve sales
  • Excellent English communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of POS software TISSL/Horizon and WSET certification or equivalent would be beneficial
  • Be able to work in a fast paced and pressured restaurant environment
