Description
As a rapidly growing business, we are hiring for a new and exciting venue concept in the heart of Spitalfields Market. As a Bartender, reporting to the Bar Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding hospitality by serving a diverse selection of drinks from independent brewers and businesses. The primary responsibilities of this role will include crafting and presenting beverages, engaging with guests, and ensuring a memorable experience through ‘Exceptional Hospitality’. This position is well suited to someone with a strong interest in being a part of KERB, ideally, with a good understanding of casual food and beverage service. You should have experience working in a fast-paced setting, with a keen eye for spotting upselling opportunities.
Whilst a background in the street food scene and experience in high-volume bars or hospitality is highly desirable, the most important qualities you bring to the role are a positive/flexible attitude and excellent communication skills.
What you'll be doing
- Providing an exceptional service to our guests and answering any queries, complaints/issues and escalate to line manager when necessary
- Taking direction from senior members of the team, but also using your initiative to work independently and maintain a calm and professional approach in a busy environment
- Supporting with bar set-up ready for opening - Preparing Garnishes, Glassware, ensuring the venue is always ready for service
- Clean down and re-set for the following day, including but not limited to waste removal, washing-up, stock take, switching off electrical items, rotate stock as necessary
- Maintain an excellent understanding of the food and beverage offering at the venue and be able to make suggestions and recommendations to guests based on their preferences
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of Challenge 25 and our legal obligations
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and alcohol service laws, including checking the identification of customers to verify age.

- A positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to think laterally and willing to problem solve
- Experience using tablet based till systems - we use Lightspeed
- An awareness of the licensing objectives
- A love of brilliant food and drink
- Availability to work weekends and evenings
- 1 years experience in bartending however this isn’t a dealbreaker
- Great knowledge of beers, wines & spirits - cocktail experience would be a bonus
