BARTENDER/MIXOLOGIST

Launched in September 2023 - Casual luxury with a distinctly London personality, effortlessly shifting from work to fun. The Bar is an all-day experience situated within the London Hilton on Park Lane, one of the cities most preeminent locations. Featuring classically inspired cocktails, exceptional coffee and a food menu encompassing playful takes on iconic dishes. A place to meet, work, eat, drink and play.

Salary: £13.50 per Hour plus service charge

This is a full time role - 39h per week.

JOB OVERVIEW

Mixologists are responsible for preparing and serving beverages and creating exceptional customer experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Mixologist, you will:

1. Exceptional Customer Experiences
2. Welcome customers to build rapport and create a great first impression
3. Know your menus and recipes in detail, so you can advise customers on ingredients and beverage choices and make personalised beverage recommendations when you take their orders
4. Prepare and serve a range of beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, beers, soft drinks and garnishes, following the bar’s standard recipes
5. Customise beverages based on guest preferences
6. Make sure that food allergies and dietary requirements are treated with absolute seriousness
7. Communicate effectively with the service team so that all orders are correct, well-presented and delivered on time
8. Train the service team on the differences between spirit types and serves in an easy-to-understand way to improve their product knowledge
9. Aim to exceed every guest’s expectations, ensure to consistently offer high quality service
10. Recognise repeat customers and their preferences, offering personalised customer service
11. Carry out customer satisfaction checks, taking quick action to improve service and resolve complaints, supporting your team where needed

14. Day-To-Day Essentials
15. Make sure that you strictly comply with all regulations and standards, including health, safety and hygiene.
16. Set up your section for service, and make sure that equipment, guest areas and work areas are clean and tidy throughout the shift
17. Make sure that you record all transactions in the POS system accurately at the time of order, that billing is accurate and that cash handling complies with hotel guidelines
18. Stock and replenish inventory and supplies
19. Maintain bar equipment and machinery to the highest standards, coordinating the maintenance schedule and records
20. Keep up to date with the latest beverage trends
21. Give feedback and suggestions to the bar leadership team to improve customer and team member experiences

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for someone with a passion for bars, and at least two years experience in a similar position preferably in a destination bar. A good understanding of mixology is essential.

To be successful in this position you will have:

1. Customer focus, maintaining the highest standards of authentic service to create memorable guest experiences every time
2. Excellent communication skills to create connections with diverse customers and share information clearly
3. High attention to detail, to get orders right every time
4. Great teamwork and a positive attitude
5. Ability to build good relationships with coffee suppliers and equipment maintenance teams
6. Flexibility and adaptability, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and focused under pressure
7. Curiosity in the latest beverage and food trends, in how these are blended into the menu, and in sharing these with guests using a suggestive sales approach
8. Sustainability cautious, following best practices and taking pride telling product and supplier stories

You will also be fluent in English. A good knowledge of POS systems would be an advantage.

USEFUL TO KNOW: This position is full-time and will require working weekend and evening shifts. Position requirements also include being able to stand for hours and the ability to lift and carry moderate weights.
