What’s the Gig, you ask?

Summary of position & key attributes

Our Bar Team is key to the experience and theatre of our business; you will be producing and serving drinks at high volume in a fast pace exciting environment. We are looking for highly skilled Bartenders who have extensive experience in the bar industry. You will be provided extensive training and be expected to achieve execution criteria and consistency. Day to day duties will involve mixology prep of our unique innovative cocktail menu, preparing and setting up for private events, execution during service hours and maintaining the high hygiene and safety policies. You will work closely with the kitchen and front of house team to deliver exceptional standards of service. We are looking for a self-driven individual that strives for excellence. Ideally with 2-3 years experience in the hospitality industry. The right candidate will be passionate and always strive to exceed expectations in knowledge and capabilities. This role will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business, including weekend and late night working.

• Completing curriculum of the Clayers Academy.
• Be a brand champion maintaining expectations and delivery at all times.

Skills and desired qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience working behind a cocktail bar or in a comparable high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of classic cocktails and fundamental cocktail techniques.
• Ability to accurately follow recipes and specifications.
• Good understanding of shaking, stirring, building, straining and pouring techniques.
• Understanding of dilution, balance and consistency.
• Ability to work quickly.
• Good understanding of spirits, liqueurs, bitters, syrups and other cocktail ingredients.
• Comfortable working in a venue with very high guest volumes, particularly during peak Saturday services.
• Able to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Able to prioritise multiple tickets and orders.
• Confident communicating with colleagues and managers.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Able to take direction and adapt quickly to changes in service.
• Comfortable moving between different bar stations when required.
• A strong team player who understands that bar service is a collective operation.
