A vacancy has arisen within our team at Drax Power Station for a Supervisor to oversee our site Barlow Reclaim operations.

Hargreaves Industrial Services provide a varied Operations and Maintenance service to our client at Drax Power Station. We handle, maintain and reclaim materials including FBA, Coal and Mitigant Slurry whilst managing material stocks and transportation using a wide range of Mobile Plant.

The Role Briefly Encompasses The Following

  • Organise and assist in the Management of the operations team activities on a structured basis, ensuring maximum equipment availability.
  • Carry out Plant / Mobile Plant isolations in accordance with site procedures.
  • Ensure company procedures are properly followed to maximise coverage of your area, and that work is finished on time and all relevant paperwork is provided after every shift and signed off.
  • Encourage Hazard Alert / Near Hit reporting through the OAIN system.
  • Ensure all incidents are reported and investigated through OAIN and SAI360.
  • Understand effective cost control, managing overtime
  • Provide additional support in the event of equipment failure, ensuring that equipment is returned to operational duties effective and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, motivate teams and individuals at all levels.
  • Assist in the operation of a plant and equipment spares facility to ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained.
  • Be flexible in working across other HIS sites when required.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and adhered to.
  • Brief and inform your team members, communicate Toolbox Talks & safety documents as required.
  • Develop and maintain safe systems of work.
  • Ensure all PPE is worn always and proactively monitor.
  • Look at different ways of continuingly improving the service and procedures.
  • Ensure all H&S measures are in place and completed by all your team, (Hazard reports, inspections and audits) e.g. daily walking tours, SAF 08 audits, Job Freeze audits , asset care audits.
  • Monitor and identify additional individual training requirements as required.
  • Any other reasonable task requested by the management team.
  • Complete time sheets for all your respective team.
  • Responsible for any sub-contractors/agency staff working under Hargreaves in your respective area including putting to work and checking documentation.
  • Attend meetings as required and feedback any relevant information to your team.
  • Plan and set out work for all for your team and sign off accordingly.
