Job summary

Compass Group UK is recruiting a Barista for a Costa brand outlet on a part-time basis, contracted to 16 hours per week. You will craft beverages, serve customers, and help maintain a clean, inviting bar area while learning about brewing methods and product presentation.

The role requires strong communication, prior customer service experience, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment. Costa and Compass offer opportunities for progression and development.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with customers.
• Experience in customer service is essential.
• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment and beverage preparation.
• Ability to work well under pressure and stay reliable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare perfectly blended drinks and serve high-quality food to delight customers.
• Keep the bar area clean and organized.
• Receive and process payments (cash and cards) accurately.
• Be an enthusiastic team player and an excellent communicator.
• Maintain stock of mugs and plates for service.
• Learn brewing methods, beverage blends, food prep and presentation.
• Check equipment operates properly; report maintenance needs.
• Represent Costa and maintain a positive brand image.
• Comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards.
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations.
