Job summary

Aram Somerset House is seeking a barista to deliver an exceptional café experience. You will prepare a range of beverages, educate customers on drinks, and maintain a clean, welcoming space.

Responsibilities include handling orders accurately, keeping the site well-stocked, and ensuring safety and hygiene standards. Previous barista or customer service experience is preferred, with flexibility to work on weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee & Beverage Preparation

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, juices, smoothies, and other beverages to café standards.
• Maintain consistency in recipes, flavour, and presentation.
• Assist with calibration of espresso machines and grinders.
• Monitor stock of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and related supplies.
• Prepare batches for juices, smoothies and all necessary ingredients following the par levels.

Customer Service

• Provide a friendly, welcoming experience for all guests.
• Take orders accurately and efficiently.
• Educate customers about menu items, coffee options, and brewing methods.
• Handle customer feedback and resolve minor concerns in a positive manner.

Operations & Cleanliness

• Keep the bar and café areas clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Follow hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety guidelines.
• Perform regular equipment cleaning and report any maintenance issues.
• Assist in reducing waste and supporting overall café efficiency.
