Job summary

Compass Group UK&I is recruiting a Barista on a part‑time basis (25 hours per week) to prepare and serve high‑quality coffees for Defence. The role uses 4 on/3 off shift patterns and is contracted to 49.2 weeks per year. You will deliver first‑class service, work as part of a team, and have opportunities to progress within a people‑centred organisation that recognises effort and dedication.

Qualifications

• Previous barista or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn brewing methods and beverage preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare perfectly blended drinks and serve high-quality beverages.
• Keep the bar area clean and organized.
• Receive and process payments (cash and card).
• Be an enthusiastic team player and effective communicator.
• Maintain stock of mugs, cups and related items.
• Learn about brewing methods, beverage blends, and presentation techniques.
• Check equipment operates correctly and report maintenance needs.
• Represent Defence and uphold a positive brand image.
• Comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards and Health & Safety regulations.

We're currently recruiting a driven Barista to help us create beautifully crafted drinks for Defence on a part time basis, contracted to 25 hours per week. As a Barista, you will use your skills to deliver first-class service and perfectly crafted coffees to our customers. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing perfectly blended drinks and serving high-quality food that delights our customers
• Keeping the bar area clean
• Receiving and processing payments (cash and credit cards)
• Being an enthusiastic team player and excellent communicator
• Maintaining stock of clean mugs and plates
• Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation and presentation techniques
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image
• Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
• Complying with Health & Safety regulations
