Job summary

Compass Group UK&I – ESS is recruiting a driven Barista to craft beautifully prepared drinks for Defence on a part-time basis (32 hours per week). You will deliver first-class service and perfectly crafted coffees while enjoying progression opportunities within a company that values its people.

Shifts are Mon-Fri (Daytime). You will be responsible for maintaining a clean bar area, processing payments, working as part of a team, and representing Defence with a positive brand image.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience required.
• Must be a brilliant communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment and making beverages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare blended drinks and serve high-quality food to delight customers.
• Keep the bar area clean and organized.
• Process payments (cash and cards) accurately.
• Be an enthusiastic team player and an effective communicator.
• Monitor stock of mugs/plates and assist with restocking.
• Learn brewing methods, blends, food prep and presentation techniques.
• Check equipment and report maintenance needs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing perfectly blended drinks and serving high-quality food that delights our customers
• Keeping the bar area clean
• Receiving and processing payments (cash and credit cards)
• Being an enthusiastic team player and excellent communicator
• Maintaining stock of clean mugs and plates
• Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation and presentation techniques
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image
• Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
• Complying with Health & Safety regulations
