Job summary

Ardencote Hotel & Spa is seeking a Bars Supervisor to lead the bar team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will manage busy service periods, mentor staff, and maintain high presentation and service standards across all bar areas.

The role requires passion for hospitality, strong knowledge of bar service and drinks preparation, and the ability to supervise and motivate the team with excellent communication. Evening/weekend shifts are included.

Qualifications

• Must have genuine passion for hospitality and guest service.
• Must have knowledge of bar service, beverages and drink preparation.
• Must be able to lead and motivate a team.
• Must have strong communication and people skills.
• Must stay calm during busy services.
• Understanding of stock control, wastage and cost management.
• Knowledge of licensing, food hygiene and health & safety requirements.
• Flexible to work across a hospitality rota, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Leading and motivating the bar team during busy services

• Supporting cash handling, security and key-control procedures
• Collaborating with Food & Beverage team for seamless guest experience

Are you an experienced bar professional who loves great drinks, great service and creating memorable guest experiences?

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Leading and motivating the bar team during busy services
• Creating a welcoming, engaging and memorable experience for our guests
• Ensuring drinks are prepared and presented consistently to a high standard
• Supporting the development of seasonal cocktails, drinks menus and bar promotions
• Training and coaching team members, helping them build their knowledge and confidence
• Running team briefings and keeping everyone informed of daily priorities and guest requirements
• Managing stock effectively, including ordering, wastage control and stocktakes
• Supporting rotas and shift planning to ensure the right level of cover
• Responding to guest feedback and resolving any issues professionally
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation across all bar areas
• Ensuring responsible alcohol service and compliance with licensing requirements
• Supporting cash handling, security and key-control procedures
• Working closely with the wider Food & Beverage team to deliver a seamless guest experience

What We’re Looking For

• Must have a genuine passion for hospitality and excellent guest service
• Must have excellent knowledge of bar service, beverages and drink preparation
• Must be confident leading and motivating a team
• Must have great communication and people skills
• Must have a hands‑on approach and the ability to stay calm during busy services
• Must have good attention to detail and high standards of presentation
• Must have an understanding of stock control, wastage and cost management
• Must have knowledge of licensing, food hygiene and health & safety requirements
• Must be flexible to work across a hospitality rota, including evenings and weekends

Additional Information

• Full-time - Working 37.5 hours per week
• Working 5 out of 7 days a week
• Shift Pattern: As required
• Full flexibility is key as you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the team and the business
• Salary: £13.71 Per hour
