Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Bar Steward to join our team and deliver efficient, friendly bar service for Mess Members and guests. The role emphasizes high standards of cleanliness and professional discretion in a busy, member-focused environment.

You will manage cash and bar records, restock for events, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and COSHH regulations while maintaining a professional appearance and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older due to licensing.

• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly bar service to Mess Members and guests.
• Serve drinks accurately and maintain high service standards.
• Manage cash, chits, stock and bar records accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and presentation to required standards.
• Restock the bar and assist with stocktaking and functions.
• Complete fridge temperature checks and follow cleaning schedules.
• Follow Health & Safety, Food Safety and COSHH requirements.
• Report defects or concerns to the Mess Manager promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.

Bar Steward to join our team and provide an efficient, friendly and high-quality bar service to Mess Members and guests. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation. You will also have responsibility for the safe and accurate control of bar stock, cash and chit transactions, in line with company procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working as part of a team and understands the importance of discretion and professionalism in a member-focused environment. What You'll Do:
